Personal Christmas (or Holiday) Cards

The Admin of South Carleton High School needs to send Christmas Cards - YOU have been asked to design it for them in PHOTOSHOP.


Specifications:

• 4" tall x 6" wide @ 200dpi
• Drag in a a Festive Background (School Picture)
  • Locate an appropriate image in the HANDOUTS folder
  • Paint in thematic elements: Snow, Christmas Lights, Snowman, Santa?
    • PAINT ONLY IN LAYERS to paint "non-destructively"
• Include a Seasonal Greeting:
  • Choose an appropriate message:
    • Happy Holidays from South Carleton High School
    • Seasons Greetings from the Staff and Students of SCHS
  • Use Good typography
    • Use VERDANA for one line of text, and TIMES NEW ROMAN for another
    • Two disctinct sizes of text
    • Use colours and effects that allow the text to be easily read over top the background
• Include YOUR Christmas Logo & Wreath with the caption "designed by"
  • You can use a "flattened" version of the logo to make it easy to import
    • Turn off the BACKGROUND layer of your Christmas logo
    • Use the Palette Menu and choose to MERGE VISABLE LAYERS
    • Drag the newly flattened later to your Christmas card
• Consider "Frosting" the outside edges of your card
  • In a new layer, select a large OVAL area
  • Use SELECT- FEATHERING and set a value of 60 pixels
  • Use SELECT - INVERSE to choose the outside edges of the card
  • Hit the D key to set the colours to black and white
  • Use CTRL-DELETE to push the background colour (white) to the selected pixels
